As I sat there in the driver seat taking this picture, I couldn’t help but recall all the different drives I’ve made that contributed to the number on the odometer:
Half a year’s worth of trips to MMHS followed by 4 years worth going to SDSU
Nearly 3 years’ worth of commute to work at Old Town, then Mission Gorge, and now Murphy Canyon (next to Chargers practice facility!)
Family and friends parties all over San Diego, from Chula Vista to Temecula–sometimes even in the same day!
Random trips to various Indian Casinos around San Diego
Several trips to the local bowling alley (my Chargers bowling ball is ALWAYS in the trunk)
Random Irvine/Anaheim trips to hit up Spectrum or Downtown Disney
Monica’s dance competitions which always seem to be SOOO FARRR!!!
Disneyland/Magic Mountain/Sea World
Weekly trips down to Point Loma to go to Mass at St. Charles Borromeo
9+ years worth of dates/outings with the girlfriend, now wife (and my baby’s mama).
So in honor of this momentous occasion, I was thinking of pimpin’ out the ride somehow. Maybe getting some nice rims? Or yellow fog lights? Maybe I’ll finally get that gold molding across the grill of the hood and above the rear license plate to complete the ultimate Chargerfan Civic.
LOL, you know what’s going to happen right? I’m just going to end up investing in a car seat base so I can take Jovie for a ride in my car for a change. =P …And maybe a San Diego Chargers Skinit Tailgate Pack. =)
I wonder what the next 100,000 will have in store. Whatever happens, I hope it’ll be just as fun as the first 100,000.
I can’t believe my 4 weeks vacation/paternity leave is over. I’m going back to work FT tomorrow and will miss spending all that time with the wife and daughter. I hope the day/week goes by fast.
It hardly seems fair that I’ll be away 40 hours out of every week, about 50 if you include lunches and commute time. But then again, bills must be paid and Jovie will need that education someday. **crosses fingers** — I hope she gets a scholarship.
Meanwhile, Cynthia will still be at home for several weeks, so that’s good. I just pray that Jovie goes easy on her while I’m at work. =P
Having Jovie has made me realize how little time we have each and every day and how fast it goes by. Just in the past 25 days since her birth it seems she’s already grown so much–from 7.14 lbs at birth to 8.5 lbs as of last week, most likely even more now.
At 25 years old, I find it really hard to believe that in only 25 years, Jovie will be 25 years old.
I wonder what God has in store for Jovie. I only hope that God gives her the many blessings Cynthia and I have received thus far and then some.
As for now, I plan to do my part by giving my all to help Jovie live her life the way Cynthia and I have been living ours the past 9 years and 1 month together–To always have Faith, Hope and Love, and to fully enjoy each and every moment …or baby-step. =)
In honor of WILCYN’S ONE YEAR WEDDING ANNIVERSARY:
A couple months before our wedding, we thought it would be funny if the groomsmen got together and made a short movie about how they would help me (the groom) get in shape for the wedding.
We never really finished it, but had a lot of fun making it.
I’ve never really explained to anyone why I don’t like the Lakers. The Lakers used to be cool. Shoot, even when it was Kobe and Shaq, even though I didn’t root for them I at least respected them. But THIS Lakers team has really irked me. And everytime I’m confronted and try to explain why I don’t like em, the conversation usually ends with Laker Fan just calling me a hater so I don’t even bother going into detail with them anymore.
But yesterday, FINALLY, someone said what I’ve been meaning to say to all y’all.
So, Laker Fan, here you go–This is why I do not like THIS Lakers team. (Thanks Charles, Kenny, and C.Webb! Well said!!)
