How They Met
Will and Cynthia had a math class together in 7th grade but never got along. They sat in the back of the room and she’d always tease him about how wrestling was fake.
Three years later, their paths crossed again through mutual friends. They didn’t recognize each other at the time and it was love at ‘second’ sight! Cynthia would surprise Will during his drill practices and he’d always have to do push-ups for getting distracted.
The Proposal
April 7, 2007 – It was the night before Easter. Will and Cynthia had just gotten confirmed at Saint Charles Borromeo. Immediately afterwards, he told her that they should go celebrate at Dave & Buster’s. What she didn’t know was that he had reserved the entire VIP Room all to themselves.
As they walked into the room, a familiar tune began to play. Will had the room setup with seven tables, each with chairs, linens, silverwear and even centerpieces. Hidden at each table was a single plastic egg–each with a different message inside of a promise he had made to her throughout their seven years together.
At the bottom level was a final table-for-two, with a golden egg. And while Cynthia read the last promise, Will got down on one knee.
He proposed and she said “Yes.”
